Our History

In February 2006 after a significant encounter with the Lord, Ps Mark was sent out from Lakes Christian Life Centre (Lakes) in Perth to plant a church in Kuala Lumpur.

City Church KL (CCKL) grew out of a small apartment from a handful of committed believers to a passionate, vibrant church that has already begun to have influence in the nation of Malaysia.
In September 2008, Ps Mark and his wife Jemima were given the great privilege and responsibility of leading Lakes into its future in addition to CCKL.
In leading a young church in KL and an established church in Perth through the next 12 months, a great team began to gather in both cities.

"Kingdom City was birthed as a mandate and a vision in early 2008, in our hearts, before our move to Perth - that we would bring the reality of God's world, His Kingdom, to every city we were called to influence".

Today as both churches undergo this transition in vision and name, "Kingdom City" is now birthed in KL and Perth - one church, one kingdom culture, one vision, but 2 expressions, with the same heart - "to connect, equip and empower people to bring the reality of God to their world."
